The North Texas District Export Council (NTDEC) is one of the nationwide networks of DEC's which make significant contributions to America's international competitiveness. It is a diverse group of volunteer International Trade Professionals representing regions throughout North Texas.

Mission Statement
The District Export Councils contribute leadership and international trade expertise to complement the U.S. Commercial Service's export promotion efforts through counseling businesses on the exporting process and conducting trade education and community outreach. Mission

The North Texas District Export Council (NTDEC) contributes leadership and international trade expertise to complement the U.S. Commercial Service's export promotion efforts through counseling businesses on the exporting process and conducting trade education and community outreach. The NTDEC works with the North Texas U.S. Export Assistance Center (USEAC) to accomplish our goals.

Create 10 question survey for members/associates and send survey via survey monkey for anonymous responses to address programming, events, participation. 

Executive Commmitee and Commmitee Chairs to follow up with members/associates in person to discuss what they get/want out of their DEC membership.   

Exe Com and Com Chairs to reach out to in active DEC members to encourage them to participate.

Each DEC member/associate to bring one new potential DEC Member/Associate (exporter or manufacturer) to a DEC meeting or event each year.

Utilize manufacturer database and engage manufacturers listed in database, inviting to events, meetings, sending them information regarding the DEC and USEAC. 

Feature DEC member/associate of the month on the website.  Feature DEC member/associate each month in “Expert” Q&A feature on the website.  

Allow active members to place company logos on website.  Minimum activity threshold to be defined. 

Establish outstanding NTDEC member and outstanding associate of the year awards. 

Allow time for networking at meetings, events, etc.  Note networking time on agendas and invitations. 

Offer discount registration fees for DEC events/forums/luncheons for membership. 

But consistently enforce participation requirements.   Re-assess and update participation requirements.

Legislative Affairs

  • · Actively engage DEC members in outreach to municipal, state and federal representatives on trade and international business initiatives and promotions.

  • Schedule visits by DEC members to representative offices locally to inform representatives about the DEC and to discuss trade matters of importance affecting North Texas. 
  • Communicate with local representatives regarding international trade matters of importance affecting North Texas.

Marketing & Sponsorship

Raise awareness about the NTDEC and our mission in North Texas

Provide sponsorship opportunities and program for businesses with the DEC

  • Work on featured DEC members/associates on website.
  • Work on outreach to area chambers to establish awareness of DEC and strengthen relationships.

Develop & implement an annual scholarship program for students in international business and/or fund structured internship program for USEAC office in Dallas.

North Texas District Export Council - General Meeting - August 18, 2016

Cybersecurity and Economic Espionage in the Global Marketplace

The North Texas District Export Council co-hosted the “Cybersecurity and Economic Espionage in the Global Marketplace” seminar at Park Central Westin hotel On May 11th.  This full day event attracted more than 50 attendees across industries.

North Texas DEC at the US-China Leadership Summit

The North Texas District Export Council participated in the annual US-China Leadership Summit held April 15, 2016 in Addison, TX - the LOGISTICS and SUPPLY CHAIN Panel. Over 200 Delegates from China and Texas participated.
