Member Biography

Meg Wilson teaches in IC2's Executive M.S. in Science and Technology Commercialization, UTAustin Meg is on NSF's SBIR Advisory Board and works on special IC2 projects. Meg was MCC's Vice President for Business Development; Coordinator of the Center for Technology Development and Transfer, College of Engineering, UTAustin, commercializing university research; Governor White's Science and Technology Coordinator; a manager for Governor Clements' Texas 2000 Long Range Planning Project; and a policy analyst for the Texas General Land Office Coastal Management Program. Meg has a Masters from the LBJ School of Public Affairs and a BA in Politics from Ithaca College. Meg is Immediate Past President of the Technology Transfer Society, President of the Contemporary Handweavers of Texas, a member of the Camino Real Export Council, on the Advisory Board for Girlstart and on the Board of Tekstrategy Ltd., UK.


Business Information

IC2 is a "think and do tank" that is an interdisciplinary part of the university. It was founded almost 30 years ago by Dr. George Kozmetsky as the Institite for Creative Capitalism. The Institute runs the Austin Technology Incubator; created and spun out the Austin Software Council (now the Austin Technology Council); has set up incubators around the country and world; runs the MS program; publishes books and articles; puts on conferences; runs the Media Collaboratory with Stanford U.; runs an International Program which attracts visiting scholars every year (e.g. Korea Telecom); and has a Fellows Program with members from around the world.
